Lim Heng Swee: hump day happiness

hump-day-happiness-stickerThis week’s hump day happiness is being provided by Lim Heng Swee.

Lim Heng Swee is an illustrator and graphic designer who lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He studied to become an electrical engineer but quit to follow his passion for drawing. If you would like to read more about how he went from self-taught illustrator to over 80,000 followers on Facebook, check out his interview with Pikaland here. He aims to make people smile more in their everyday lives and has the best mantra:

“Doodling A SMILE

I think Lim Heng Swee was made for hump day happiness!

It is no secret that I love dinosaurs! My house is full of dinosaur goodies, from dog toys and egg cups to dinosaur shaped lamps! The first card I bought that had been designed by Lim Heng Swee is this wonderful card called ‘Dino hug’.

I bought it from OHH DEER and it definitely fits into their ‘ungodly cuteness’ category. His other designs feature puns (yes) and emphasise the importance of self love (yes! yes).

Lim Heng Swee has started to share illustrations on Instagram from his new  personal project to create 100 book covers for his imaginary children’s picture books. His first book was called Big and Small. He described it as “A simple book to explore big and small that sometimes big is not actually big, small will not be always small“.  The book cover featured an adorable illustration of an elephant and a mouse playing with balls. Check out his wonderful project for yourself here.

Lim Heng Swee gets lots of gold stars from the shell stealing slug club for his ambition to spread happiness, dinosaurs, puns and self love!
